Brilliant colors flow seamlessly into each other and stand against the cold, dark void of space lit up by twinkling stars, galaxies, and other nebula millions of light years away.

    FAQ

    What is a galaxy puzzle?

Hmm…well, how do we explain this in a non-circular way? We can’t. A galaxy puzzle is any ‘outer space’ puzzle. ‘Galaxy’ is a bit of a misnomer, because a lot of galaxy puzzles feature phenomena outside of our galaxy, or any galaxy for that matter. While we can’t always tell you what exactly will appear on a galaxy puzzle, we can tell you that it will certainly be fun (and frustrating). Galaxy puzzles tend to be pretty challenging since the universe tends to arrange itself in a pretty chaotic, messy manner. A loss for human understanding? Yes. A win for puzzle people? Absolutely.

What images are used for the Galaxy Series outer space puzzles?

Our galaxy puzzles all feature high resolution, real images of space taken by everyone’s favorite Hubble Telescope. We selected some of the most popular (re: Pillars) and puzzle-worthy (re: Nebula and Starfield) images from the vast library of stunning images taken by Hubble over its lifespan. We honestly could have made a lifetime’s worth of galaxy puzzles (which, why didn’t we?), but whittled it down to these three to start. Maybe, if enough of our lovely, loyal customers buy the series and give it a great review online (hint, hint), we’ll make more outer space puzzles for everyone to stare at.

Are the galaxy puzzle series pictures real pictures of outer space?

Yes, dear puzzler, these are 100% real images of space. Look, we’re smart, but do you really think we could fabricate this kind of thing? (If you answered yes, thank you, but you’re wrong). If  you really want to get technical, they are touched up by NASA and colorized by scientists who know how to translate the wonders of the universe into shareable content in our digital age. But we digress. Long story short, yes, these galaxy puzzles are REAL images of space.

How many pieces are in the Galaxy puzzle series?

Our galaxy puzzles all contain at least 1,000 pieces. Most 1,000 piece puzzles are actually more than 1,000 pieces. And when you’ve got 1,000 of something, what’s an extra 40 or 50? Not much. Just know you never have to worry about getting ripped off. You can count ‘em, and if there’s a piece missing, don’t look at us. It’s always the cat.

How long does the 1,000 piece galaxy jigsaw puzzle take to do?

It takes most people about 3-4 hours to put together a standard 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle. Galaxy puzzles might take you a little bit longer, as they tend to be more challenging than your run-of-the-mill, “orca breaching under the moonlight” (or whatever)  illustrated puzzles. These galaxy puzzle images are as chaotic as the universe itself, so plan to tack on another 30 min-1 hour if you’re new to outer space puzzles. And isn’t a beautiful, challenging puzzle with more bang-for-your buck exactly what you’re looking for?

What shape is the galaxy puzzle?

Okay, this is really outside of our expertise, but…oh…you’re asking about the shape of the galaxy PUZZLE, not the galaxy itself. Phew, really dodged a bullet there. Our galaxy puzzles are  20” x 30” and they’re all rectangular. Really glad we could end on an easy one.
